Belgian Infantry Lieutenant’s Officers Coat by Fonson & Cie
An absolutely stunning Belgian officer’s coat from the early 1920s, made for a lieutenant of the infantry by the renowned company Fonson & Cie.
The coat features eight front stripes, indicating the wearer served throughout the entire First World War.
Inside, the coat bears only the Fonson & Cie label. No other labels, names, or dates are present in the lining or pockets.
The coat is quite a small size and beautifully made, with embroidered insignia. The front pockets are fully functional, and the loop to close the collar when folded over is still intact. Overall, the coat is in good condition, showing minor signs of wear. There are some small moth holes scattered throughout, but no major damage is present. Unfortunately one of the front buttons is missing and another is loose, the missing button is fortunately located under the collar so it is not visible when worn.
Overall, a beautiful and high-quality officer’s coat!
