Belgian '50s-'60s 1e Bataljon Parachutisten Set

€195.00

A beautiful set belonging to S.M. Van Vleymen of the 1e Bataljon Parachutisten.

The jacket is complete with its original mounted insignia, nicely dated 1956, and made by Velcotex in size 4F. Inside the jacket, a piece of cardboard provides information about the original owner: S.M. Van Vleymen, stm. 60/27544, Staf Kie pl M.O. The jacket is in good condition, featuring interesting details such as the wings, which have been overpainted with white paint. There is some general wear, moth damage on the back, and overall signs of age.

The beret is a very early example, made in 1951 by MANABI, size 59. It was found together with the jacket and will be sold as part of the set. The beret is in good condition, with supple leather and an intact drawstring. It is clearly marked and dated, though it has no insignia and shows some moth damage and general wear from use and storage over the years.

An interesting set that, with some research, can reveal fascinating historical details!
