Original Belgian-made WWI Gomez cartridge belt. In the early phase of WWI, Gomez cartridge belts were purchased from Argentina, but later the Belgian Army produced the same model in its own factories in Le Havre, as indicated by the buckle and maker’s mark on the front of the belt. The belt remains very supple and, aside from the two missing D-rings on the back, is in used but good condition. None of the closing straps are ripped or stiff. The main strap is slightly brittle and dried out but still in acceptable condition. Despite the missing parts, this remains a solid, interesting, and authentically used piece of Belgian WWI equipment.
