Original Belgian pre-WWII Model 1936 officer’s greatcoat belonging to a lieutenant colonel of the 2de Linieregiment. The coat is made from heavy wool and features unique tailoring and detailing. On the left arm are three “frontstrepen,” and on the right arm a “gekwetstenstreep,” indicating the officer served during the First World War and was likely wounded during the conflict. The insignia is beautifully embroidered on the uniform, along with two crowns on the epaulettes, one of which is unfortunately missing. Otherwise, no buttons or hooks are missing, and there is minor moth damage, mostly located on the inside of the coat. Sadly, no maker’s mark or owner’s name can be found. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful coat with distinctive details and interesting history.
