Belgian M1859 Kepi Capitain 9e Ligne Leopold II Reign
SOLD
€695.00
Original Belgian M1859 kepi for a Captain of the 9e Regiment de Ligne, dating from the reign of Leopold II and made by Fonson & Cie Bruxelles complete with its original box. The kepi is in overall good condition, with general wear and tear consistent with age and use. A small elastic band was added to the kepi to help keep it in place when worn, though it has lost its elasticity over time. There is a small moth hole on the top of the kepi, some of the gold braid has loosened over time, part of the liner is missing, and the leather visor has started to crack. Overall, the kepi remains a solid piece. The box has seen better days and shows dents and damage but still retains the original Fonson label on the top.
Overall, a fantastic piece.
