Belgian M15 Adrian Helmet Lt Van Massenhove
Original Belgian M15 Adrian helmet, produced in the 1920s, painted green and remaining in service with various regiments until May 1940. All parts are present however, the chinstrap is unfortunately almost torn through in several places, and the liner is somewhat loose. There is some paint loss, surface rust and staining, but most of the original paint remains intact. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible, apart from the liner size, marked 58.
Beneath the liner, on the inside of the dome, the name “Lt Van Massenhove” has been written. Interestingly, a serviceman matching this name and rank can be identified on the website 18daagseveldtocht.be: Lt. G. Van Massenhove, commander of the 2nd Company, I Battalion, Service d’Entretien des Routes et des Voies Navigables / Dienst voor Onderhoud der Straat- en Waterwegen.
